Sierra Summit’s integrated ultrasound complements electrodiagnostic testing and improves your diagnoses and treatment decisions
Cadwell is dedicated to proactively advancing the technology of Neuromuscular Ultrasound and delivering education regarding its use
We believe that by providing a fully integrated EMG/US diagnostic solution, and by driving the development of dedicated ultrasound-focused features, we are helping you help others even more efficiently in the future.
An emerging diagnostic subspecialty, ultrasound is recognized as a complementary practice for neurodiagnostic testing in neurology and physical medicine and rehabilitation. High resolution ultrasound can study peripheral nerves, sensitively observe muscle disease, guide local anesthetic administration for nerve blocks, and enhance nerve localization. Ultrasound improves safety margins for injection needle procedures, EMG needle placement, and direct needle stimulation of deep nerves.

“In experienced hands, ultrasound is more sensitive than MRI in detecting peripheral nerve pathologies.”

Ultrasound provides real-time neuromuscular visualization
- Dynamic visualization
- Ability to see moving tissue
- Ability to see vascular flow with Doppler imaging
- Protect target and surrounding soft tissue structures in diagnostic and therapeutic needle guidance procedures
- Enhance safety and accuracy in needle procedures
Ultrasound is a safe, portable, and low-cost diagnostic imaging technique
- No ionizing radiation
- Can be used with metallic implants
- No claustrophobia, as with other imaging modalities
- No restrictions or known adverse effects
- Instant feedback of results
“Ultrasound has some generic advantages over other imaging modalities in that it is a portable, bedside point-of-care technology that is non-invasive, painless and does not involve ionizing radiation.”
