Neuronal Conduction for Beginners Workshop

Mar 23 – 24, 2019 · Aug 10 – 11, 2019 · Nov 16 – 17,2019

Workshop Location: The College of Staten Island, Physical Therapy Dept.

The Neuronal Conduction (NCV) for Beginners Workshop is a two-day course that provides theoretical background and hands-on experience in current techniques, including Motor nerve conduction, sensory nerve conduction and Late responses, including H-reflex and F-wave.

This course is specifically designed for:

  • Technicians who need to learn new skills
  • Individuals who attended one or two-day workshops and want more information
  • Individuals who plan to progress through a series of courses from beginner to advanced levels

Participants gain a clear understanding of this specialty area with an appreciation for the depth of study and practice required to attain clinical expertise in neuronal conduction through intense study and laboratory practice. More than half of this course is hands-on training guided by expert clinicians.

Registration includes all workshop materials, disposable electrode kit and certificate of attendance upon completion of course. Continental breakfast and lunch are also included. The Performing Motor and Sensory Neural Conduction Studies in Adult Humans manual is provided upon registration and sent to the address listed on the registration form – please make sure the address used can accept federal express packages.

Students will learn:

  • Anatomic and physiologic basis of neuronal conduction
  • Basics of electrodiagnostic instrumentation
  • Rationale and methods to perform motor and sensory conduction of the major nerves in the upper and lower extremities
  • Rationale and methods to perform H-reflex and F-wave studies

Instructors:

Roger Nelson, P.T., Ph.D., F.A.P.T.A.  and John Lugo, P.T., MS, ECS

Limited enrollment

To ensure the best learning environment, enrollment is limited. Registrations are taken in the order they are received.
