The University of Michigan’s Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Program recently became the only accredited IONM program in the world. A partnership between the U-M Health System Neurology Department and the U-M School of Kinesiology, this IONM Program uses Cascade Elite IONM equipment to teach students hands-on monitoring during 10 hours of surgery each week. Program Director Josh Mergos has developed this program to educate his students and empower them with the ability to immediately sit for their certification exam. The saves graduates up to 18 months of on-the-job training, and saves companies thousands of dollars of in-house training costs.

Cadwell is proud to play a part in this program; U-M trains its students on the Cascade Elite IONM system. Mergos has also lent his expertise to Cadwell over the years by volunteering to take part in the beta testing of our IONM equipment and software programs, including the upcoming Cascade Surgical Studio software release.

We’re proud of Mergos and the U-M IONM Program, and we wish all of its graduates success and satisfaction.
